Florida Hotels
If you are planning a trip to Florida, or any other location for that matter, your hotel accommodations are the most important arrangement you will make. There are several things to consider before you make a decision on the best hotel for you. First of all and most obviously, you will have to know exactly where you intend to visit on your trip. If you are staying in one location, say Orlando FL, you will surly only need one hotel for your entire stay. However, if you are touring many locations in one state you may need more than one hotel during your stay. For example, if you are traveling from St. Petersburg to Naples and on to South Beach during your visit, you will need to book separate hotels in each of these cities.
After you have decided on your destination, you will need to consider your pocket book. You should know that where you intend to stay will greatly affect the amount you should plan to spend on a hotel. For example, if you plan to visit South Beach or Naples you can expect to pay much more than if you are visiting Hollywood or even Orlando. If you are traveling to Florida during spring break you will expect to pay more altogether, especially in locations such as Destin, Daytona Beach and the Florida Keys. If you are visiting a pricier location try searching for available accommodations online through companies such as Hotwire, Hotels.com and Nextag. Taking the time to do this can get you a great discount on a much nicer hotel than you could normally afford. Another tip you might consider if you are traveling during spring break or holiday seasons is to look at the hotels near Florida universities. During these peak seasons many students travel home and many cities like Tallahassee for example, come virtual ghost towns and you can land a great deal on a great room.
After you have figured a budget, you should take a look at the amenities you would like in your hotel. This way you can take the money you have to work with and look for the best deal on a hotel that has what you want. This would be most important if you are comparing Florida hotels on places like hotels.com or the like, as you will only get a listing of amenities and not the hotel name until you purchase. For that reason alone, you should make note of what you are looking for so you can compare prices accordingly. However, on sites such as Hotwire and Priceline, whether or not you are concerned with the extras that many Florida hotels offer, especially in resort towns, may not make too much of a difference. You can land a great rate on even the classiest of hotels.
