Houston Hotels
If you are planning a trip to Houston for work or play, your hotel accommodations are probably the most important arrangement you will make. However, there are a few things to consider before you make a decision on your hotel. First of all and most obviously, you should know what you want to see and where exactly you plan to visit on your trip. For example, if you intend to visit Houston for business purposes and will spend most of your time in the downtown convention center area, a downtown Houston hotel is probably the best choice. Traffic is fierce in Houston and my opinion is the less travel you have to do the better. However, if you have plans to spend most of your time in the immediate suburbs and surrounding areas of Houston, say in the Galleria or Medical Center area, you will save a little money by staying outside the downtown area. Hotels in downtown Houston are plentiful in all areas, but can be pricey as well.
Now it is time to consider your pocket book. You should know that where you intend to stay will greatly affect the amount you should plan to spend on a hotel. For example, if you plan to stay in the heart of the business district, you can expect to pay BIG bucks! The same goes for Houston shopping districts such as the Galleria as well. For example, the Houston Derek Hotel near the Galleria is a premier luxury hotel that offers everything a traveler can imagine. The Galleria Westin is also another outstanding choice if you want to be in the premier shopping district of Houston. If you prefer to settle downtown, the Omni Hotel, the Hilton and the Magnolia Hotel provide both convenience and luxury in one. Probably one of the finest choices in downtown is the Icon Hotel. The Houston Icon Hotel is an award winning luxury hotel that provides the finest amenities in all of Houston. For business travelers and doctors that travel to the famed Houston Medical Center area can stay in Houston Grand Plaza Hotel, one of Houston’s premier full service hotels. No matter where you travel in Houston and the areas surrounding Houston Texas you are sure to find accommodations that are right for you.
If your budget will not allow for the luxury full service hotels, Houston has many budget and discount hotel choices for you. I would advise to try searching for Houston hotels online through companies such as Hotwire, Hotels.com and Nextag. Taking the time to do this can get you a great discount on a much nicer hotel than you could normally afford.
