The Portland Harbor Hotel is in the heart of downtown, in the old port waterfront. It is a great choice for business travelers who would like to combine luxury and world class service. If you are looking for something a little more affordable, try the Portland Howard Johnson and Convention Center and the River Place Hotel. For the Portland Maine area, they are a good deal.

If you are visiting a pricier location try searching for available accommodations online through companies such as Hotwire, Hotels.com and Nextag. Taking the time to do this can get you a great discount on a much nicer hotel than you could normally afford. Cheap hotels in tourist areas of Maine are not too easy to come by, but it can be done if you are diligent in your search and flexible in your travel dates.
