If you are planning a trip to New Orleans, your hotel accommodations are probably the most important arrangement you will make. More moderately priced hotels such as the Doubletree, Marriott and Intercontinental provide travelers with timeless class and service.

I highly recommend staying in a Bourbon street hotel in New Orleans if you can afford it. It is the best way to really get a taste of the city. If you are visiting a pricier location try searching for available accommodations online through companies such as Hotwire, Hotels.com and Nextag. Taking the time to do this can get you a great discount on a much nicer hotel than you could normally afford. New Orleans hotels are generally pretty full during spring break season, fall and winter. So, doing your research will pay off immensely here. Cheap hotels, especially in the downtown New Orleans area are not too easy to come by, but it can be done if you are diligent in your search and flexible in your travel dates.
