San Antonio Hotels
If you are planning a trip to San Antonio for work or play, your hotel accommodations are probably the most important arrangement you will make. However, there are a few things to consider before you make a decision on your hotel. First of all and most obviously, you should know what you want to see and where exactly you plan to visit on your trip. Let’s say for example that you will spend most of your time in San Antonio on the Riverwalk, perhaps the most visited area of San Antonio. Hotels on the San Antonio Riverwalk are plentiful and come in all prices and styles. So you’ve decided you would like to stay on the Riverwalk. Now it is time to consider your pocket book. You should know that where you intend to stay will greatly affect the amount you should plan to spend on a hotel. A good thing about the San Antonio area is that no matter what area of town you want to stay in you do not have to pay BIG bucks for a hotel! Many luxury hotels in San Antonio are very reasonable. A few good examples of affordable luxury on the Riverwalk would be the Hotel Contessa and the Watermark Hotel. Although they wouldn’t be considered affordable to many budget minded travelers, the prices are reasonable for the amenities provided. If you prefer to stay in the historic area of San Antonio, the Omni hotel is a four-diamond luxury hotel that offers the best in service and comfort. This hotel is definitely not for travelers trying to save money.
If you are looking for an adventure and do not want to stay on the Riverwalk, you might consider the famous Menger hotel. It is adjacent to the Alamo and is said to be haunted. It was built in 1859 and is an historic landmark in San Antonio. The ghost sightings at the Menger hotel are not “scary” but make for an interesting visit. The hotel is absolutely stunning and takes you back in time, I absolutely love it.
If your budget will not allow for the luxury full service hotels, San Antonio has many budget and discount hotel choices for you. Choosing to stay in a hotel by the San Antonio Airport is a more affordable way to go. There are many middle class hotels to choose from: the Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Doubletree just to name a few. I would also advise to try searching for San Antonio hotels online through companies such as Hotwire, Hotels.com and Nextag. Taking the time to do this can get you a great discount on a much nicer hotel than you could normally afford.
